The School Day

The school day starts at 8.50am. Please bring the children in from 8.40am when you can have a quick word with the teacher if necessary. For a longer meeting with a teacher please make an appointment. By 9 o'clock we aim to have all the children in so that the days work can begin. It is very disruptive if children and parents arrive late. Right from the beginning children should learn the importance of punctuality so please make sure they are here on time. Obviously we understand if there is an emergency. Please remember that good habits are formed early.

It is equally important that the children are met on time so please be at school by 3.05pm. Please wait in the small playground for your children at home time because it gets too congested in the corridors and there are potential dangers. The teachers will see the children out to you at 3.05 with all their belongings. We always tell the children that if the person who is collecting them is not there they must come back into the class and wait for them there with the teacher. Please tell your children the same, then if there is any emergency and you are not able to get here in time your child will be safe. We ask parents to let the class teachers know if they want their child to meet them somewhere other than the playground door. This information will be displayed in the classroom in case of the class teacher's absence the supply teacher will be aware of the arrangements for each child.

When your child first starts school, he or she will come in the mornings only until ready for more. You may collect him/her from the classroom at 12.15.
